Abstract:
When a product is manufactured, it always has deviations from the ideal CAD-geometry. Therefore, tolerances are assigned to each part. In this paper a method is presented where a designer can generate different nonideal prototypes independently from the proposed tolerances. This is done by defining gap and flush measurements at selected points. The designer can then evaluate whether the product meets the desired aesthetic quality.
