Abstract:
This thesis addresses two fundamental improvements of satellite link budgets. On the one hand, a refinement of contemporary link budgets is proposed. Impairments crucial to satellite communications systems are characterized mathematically. Within the presented framework, the corresponding carrier-to-impairment power ratio formulas are derived.
