Abstract:
A novel approach for signal presence detection and geolocation in distributed satellite systems is proposed. The method exploits cyclostationary properties of communication signals. Based on a linear time-varying Doppler effect approximation, a model for the cyclic cross correlation function (CCCF) for a signal transmitted by an earth-borne emitter that is received at multiple LEO satellites is derived. For narrow-band signals, it is shown that the cyclic features in the CCCF cannot be estimated...    »
