Abstract:
Autonomous vehicles are a highly topical issue. Research in this field of knowledge is an exciting task for future engineers. For this reason, a robot has been developed which motivates students to deal with hardware-software co-design. The robot platform is used for hardware development. The sensors and actuators are controlled via microcontrollers or HDL-components (Hardware Description Language). The higher-level controlling of the platform is done with ROS (Robot Operating System). With this platform, all development steps can be carried out: from hardware design to the development of hardware-related control systems to the development of algorithms. The students work with this platform in compulsory and optional courses as well as in projects, Bachelor’s or Master’s theses. «
